The Alpaca Mark is a small contemporary jewellery design and manufacturing business, established after its founder completed an Advanced Diploma in Engineering, Metal Technology (Jewellery) at the Northern Melbourne Institute of TAFE, now Melbourne Polytechnic. The Alpaca Mark is located in the inner northern suburbs, an area known for its abundance of skilled makers and original designers.

In creating unique and personal designs, often inspired by the simple forms found in nature, The Alpaca Mark crafts exquisite pieces of beautifully finished contemporary jewellery, working with precious metals in combination with both natural and man-made elements and embellishments, such as precious and semi-precious stones, wood, leather and shell. Favourite manufacturing techniques are fabrication, forming, casting, etching, stamping and roller printing. Textural qualities in work is a strong feature.

Works can be produced to your brief on commission, as individually designed one-off pieces for sale through specialist retail outlets or galleries, and on multi-production pieces available through this site and at makers' markets around Melbourne.

Regards,

P.S. Thanks for asking ... The business name, The Alpaca Mark, seemed the natural choice after developing the makers mark used by the maker. The design is derived from the letters in her name ... "h", "a', "n" and "l". And anyway ... alpacas are such wicked examples of design!
